Let’s face it

When you want to feel pampered and look your best it’s easy to be tempted by the latest plastic packaged moisturiser, face scrub, or exfoliant. Which can make the bathroom one of the more difficult areas to eliminate plastics and chemicals. But reducing these toxins from your your home does not mean you need to forgo healthy skin…

Have you tried Dry Face Brushing?

The surface of your face is covered in thousands of tiny dots or pores, which are the openings of hair follicles. Just like debris collecting in a pothole, contaminants like dirt, oils and makeup build up in your pores and traces can still be present even after washing your face.

A Dry Face Brush acts as an extra gentle broom, getting into the pores and brushing away this build up. At the base of each pore is a sebaceous gland which produces your skin’s oils. Face scrubs designed to cleanse your pores by removing dead skins cells can actually strip your skin of its natural oils, leaving your face feeling dry. For sensitive skin, these exfoliants are often too abrasive.

But Dry Face Brush is gentle enough for all skin types. While brushing exfoliates, removing dead cells, it doesn’t strip your skin of its natural oils so your face doesn’t feel as dry.

All faces and skins are different and change throughout our lifetime. During puberty we are more prone to pimples and acne and as we get older our skin can become drier. Most people have combination skin types with both dry and oily areas.  You can use a toner to remove excess oils, however over use can disrupt your skin’s natural balance, as it signals your body to produce more oils.

A Dry Face Brush can be used by all ages and skin types. Brushing will keep the natural balance of your skin by removing excess oils from your face without stripping drier areas.

Always choose a natural vegetable fibre brush like our Eco Max Face Brush which is made from soft jute. Remember to wash your brush every two weeks to remove any bacteria and then hang it in the sun to dry. We suggest using a tea tree soap and spritzing your brush with the Eco Max Turmeric Spritzer to keep it fresh and clean between washes.

Keep it simple

A simple routine with a natural cleanser and a Dry Face Brush will not only reduce the need for plastic containers and chemicals in your home, it will also save you time and money.
